I loved Taco House BECAUSE it reminds me of a place down home

This restaurant has been a favorite of my family for many years. The dining room is not fancy, you order up the window and take a number but I love the food. I recommend the soft shell tacos and the nachos with beef. there will probably be a line but it's worth the wait.

This is the worst place to get a taco or anything this place sucks. Would NOT recommend to anybody or anyone.

Good food ìf you like Mexican

Loved it! My first time going. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Service was fast and super friendly. Prices were great! Definitely recommend.

Reasonably priced "Mexican" food. Quality is slightly above mediocre. Service is well below mediocre.

Awesome Mexican food! We were here from out-of-town & tried this place based on a recommendation of a friend. We were NOT disappointed! We'll definitely be back when we visit the area again!!!

Average Mexican food, nothing special anymore. Good shakes. Taco shells used for nachos and chips, not the best.

A seasonal must in my household. Even after ive moved out of state i still make sure to get me some taco house atleast once a year!

Great food but long lines, what can you say when there are that many people eating there, even during slow times there's 20 or 30 people there.

I usually get the hard shell tacos but lately I've been ordering meat and bean burritos. Both are very good. My wife gets the nachos royal and my daughter orders the steak fajitas dinner. Great food at a reasonable price.

The portions are getting smaller, but prices remain the same.

Service was subpar. Waited 30 mins for are food. Brother ordered right after me and ended up waiting another 15 mins before his order came up. Basic burrito and a cheese quesadilla was his order.

Service was terrible this older man named manny was very rude to multiple customers asking about their orders. He also does not look cleanly and looks like someone no one would want handling their food. As much as I love this place they need better workers.

Good food, but a very long wait after ordering. 4 people for lunch yesterday and the wait was over an hour. They should hire more food prep and service people.

One of the best taco places I've been to. We went around 1:00 on a Saturday during the summer, so it was within the peak times. We had to call ahead because we were warned that you would have to wait for your food a while. When calling in we were told that it would be about 20 minutes. I got two softshells and it filled me up. Their ground beef has almost a cheesiness to it, which was so good. I'm going back the next time I'm in the area.

It was alright. Dinner prices were reasonable but portion size may be a bit small. Flavor was good. Try the hot salsa. The biggest plus is there is no wait staff and you just clean up your table when you leave. There is some indoor climate controlled seating but there is also outdoor sheltered seating for larger groups.

Food was ok but definitely not worth the money or wait.

This place always has great food Also order two tacos because one is quite small but personally I like to order six and take some home there great warmed up

Tasty food, reasonably priced and good customer svc. Seating inside is still closed but the covered patio seating area was spacious and clean.

The Taco House is one of the best known secrets if you are local. A good rule of thumb is that any restaurant that has its own county road sign with directional information to its location is worth the stop. Get 2 burritos to eat in one of the cozy tables, but also get 2 more burritos to enjoy back at your lodge. Then, find yourself a nice hammock and take a siesta, you deserve it.

This place is a local tradition. Just off West Okoboji lake. Huge facility. Very good tacos, burritos, etc. Famous for nachos. Their roasted salsa is awesome- get plenty. Expect long wait times at meals. Go early if you can.

Best Mexican place around

This is the fifth time I have been to to taco house and it is always fresh and delicious. The salsa is especially good as well. Be prepared to have a little bit of a wait during popular times though. Food has always been fresh and hot.

The lady was very rude when we got our food. She said it was 45 minute wait which turned into an hour and 15 minutes. Then had the nerve to say to us "It was less then 45 minutes I believe".

Oof. Not sure where to start. Ok, the one & only house salsa was legit, and the soda pop was cold & crispy. Other than that um yeah, let's just say there was no al pastor, no horchata, no cilantro, and no corn tortillas in sight. Although being well staffed, it took a VERY long time for food to come out. Ordered the chicken fajitas and while the ingredients were fresh, they were unfortunately a little less bland than potato salad. Next!

I live here locally. We understand there will be a wait time. It's worth it! The food is amazing. Every time. Unmatched flavor. We loooove it.

This was an EXCELLENT place too eat. They have Caffeine Free Diet Coke! Most places never have caffeine free diet anything coke or Pepsi related. When you can't have caffeine this is exciting. Fast, friendly, affordable, and clean.

Everything is just great

Just spent over 40$ on food asked specifically on the phone about extra sauce on the phone bring the food home only got two little portion cups it would be nice if they are just up front and say that extra sauce is at extra cost.

At first, I was a bit skeptical. We waited in line for a bit, ordered and then looked for a table. All the tables were dirty so we moved outside. After waiting half an hour, we got our food and was surprised to see that the chips were just taco shells that you have to break up. They were stale and the guacamole did not taste very good. Overall the chips were pretty weak. The tacos actually ended up tasting good, but not very good for the price. In conclusion, the only good part about this place are the tacos.

Poor food quality. Waited an hour longer than they said it would be ready. Didn't look appitising, and had to throw it on the garbage. Rather go somewhere else

Very good food except my taco did come with lettuce and are taco we asked for was no cheese and it came with cheese

The food is amazing, I take family here when they come to Iowa to visit. Even my dad lives it there. You have to try their special taco sauce it's incredible. I once saw a teenager driving a glass of it it's that good. You must go here if you're in the area. And some drive from fat away like Denver, Co, i was in line with a guy that drive here from there only to go to Taco House. Five starts across the board, including just a cool experience.
